Take home a culture of rubber ducky isopods today!
Discovered in limestone caves in Thailand and named for their adorable resemblance to rubber ducks, rubber ducky isopods are detrivores that dwell within the substrate of their enclosure and help to break down organic matter. Essential to bioactive enclosures, they multiply fast and are very entertaining to watch! While they may look like insects, these little creatures are actually crustaceans!
They require more precise care than other isopod species, but are a good choice for experienced isopod keepers!
Humidity is essential for their survival, as they breath through specialized gills. Their substrate should be moist and never allowed to dry out completely!
